Project Description
Kowloon City Law Courts Building is a replacement of the former San Po Kong Magistracy Building which was built in the early 1970s and had become inadequate in meeting the increasing court needs. The building is of 13-storey with a total floor area of more than 26,000 square metres on a land area of 2,780 square metres.
Inside the building, there are additional facilities for disabled persons, public witness waiting rooms and public consultation rooms, with more interview rooms in the custodial. The second to fourth floors are reserved for office purposes and the fifth to tenth floors house thirteen courts.
The building’s attractive outlook features energy-efficient and intelligent facilities. Barrier-free access is provided for the disabled. As a result, it becomes a truly multiple-purpose landmark in the district.

Project Description
It is the first government building successfully registered under the Hong Kong Energy Efficiency Registration Scheme for Buildings.
The development comprises 25 storeys and one basement. The complex has a total floor area of approximately 68,000 square metres. The ACMV and Electrical Systems consist of:

Project Description:
Located in Tuen Mun, Siu Lun Government Complex is an integrated building which composed of two main blocks, namely the office and the recreational blocks, and are linked by an open-air communal atrium at podium level. It is a highly compact and efficient development that seamlessly integrates five Government Departments in order to provide a wide-variety of public services and recreational facilities in one-stop. A lot of communal space and recreational area is also provided within the Complex to promote a healthy lifestyle and encourage socialization for people of all ages.
The new sports centre occupies the second to fifth floors of the Complex has a total area of about 20900m². Full range of leisure activities in the building which is including a fitness room, a table-tennis room and a children's playroom on the 3rd and 4th floors, an outdoor sport climbing wall on the second floor, activity rooms on the fourth floor and a multi-purpose arena on the fifth floor opened in December 2019.

Project Description
West Kowloon Law Courts Building is an 11-storey twin-tower courthouse located at Cheung Sa Wan, Kowloon. It covers an area of around 7,500 square meters and provides a total net operational floor area of about 18,000 square meters. There are 32 courts inside the courthouse. It is much larger than a standard courthouse in Hong Kong and has been referred to as the "mega court’" in local media.

Project Description:
Public Health Laboratory Centre is a 13-storey tall laboratory building comprising an office building and a large scale laboratory facilities with total GFA of approximately 42,500m². Due to the tight construction schedule of approximately 24 months, Southa adopted off-site fabrication of air duct including duct inculcation and pre-insulated pipe for chilled water and condensate drain pipe in the HAVC System. Although the material cost was relatively high, the installation time could be shortened. As a result, the overall cost could be saved in terms of time and labour involved. The significant benefit was to assure the workmanship and quality of installation as well as to have better site safety and site housekeeping as a result of having relatively less labour on site and less scarp material production during fabrication.

North Lantau Hospital is a public hospital in Kowloon West Cluster located at Tung Chung, Lantau Island. It covers an area of around 19,000 square metres. The main building of the hospital is a 7-storey crescent-shaped block. Upon full operation, the hospital will provide a total of 160 in-patient beds and 20 day beds, with a range of services including in-patient care, day hospital services and community nursing care. It is a hospital full of green features such as energy-efficient curtain walls and a podium garden.

Project Description:
The new redeveloped of Kwai Chung Hospital will elicit the existing model of “whole-person” care, with the strengthening of community-based psychiatric care, reduction in avoidable hospital stay, provision of a less restrictive, more relaxed and homely environments for patients as well as a progressive shift toward co-ordinated and personalised treatment, recovery and community integration.
The scope of works comprises the design and construction of a new hospital campus, including to provide accommodation for a full range of psychiatric services with 1,000 in-patient wards and rehabilitation facilities, ambulatory centre, child and adolescent psychiatric services and other ancillary supporting facilities.
The total site area is approximately 30,000 square meters.

Project Description:
The Haven of Hope Hospital, a 425-bed rehabilitation-oriented hospital, covers an area of around 26,000 square metres. The project comprised a main building to accommodate in-patient beds and a low rise annex containing a nursing school, staff accommodation and a staff canteen. The beautiful architectural layout is one of the building's design characteristics but on the other hand it increased the complexity and difficulty in space utilisation, installation and maintenance of E&M services.

Project Description:
Super Terminal 1 of Hong Kong Air Cargo Terminals Limited (HACTL), a 6-storey building covering an area of about 170,000 quare metres, is located at Chek Lap Kok Airport. It is the single largest multi-level air cargo terminal in the world.
Three independent refrigeration centres were designed, supplied and installed in Super Terminal 1, namely,
- Bulk Cargo Refrigeration Centre 1 (BCRC1) at south end, 1 /F
- Bulk Cargo Refrigeration Centre 2 (BCRC2) at south end, 2/F
- Unitized Cargo Refrigeration Centre (UCRC) at north end, 2/F
Each refrigeration centre, with its own refrigeration plant located next door, can operate independently. The three refrigeration centres consist of a series of -17.8°C freezer rooms, 1.7°C cold rooms and1.7°C lobbies.

Nestle Dairy Farm Ice Cream Factory, Yuen Long, Hong Kong

Project Description:
In the mid 1990s, Nestle joined with Dairy Farm, the most famous ice cream manufacturer in Hong Kong, and decided to build a modern facility in Yuen Long Industrial Estate for production. Southa was entrusted to design, supply and install the ammonia system to provide the necessary liquid overfed ammonia, glycol and brine to the confectionary chilling and freezing equipment. The latest screw compressors with advanced PLC control were employed in the plant. The total motor power of the compressors alone was close to 4,000kW.
This project is featured in the book "Cool HK", published by the American Society of Heating Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers.

Project Description:
The Peak Galleria is now one of the landmarks for tourists visiting Hong Kong. It is a 4-storey shopping mall complex, at more than 400 metres above sea level with a land area around 12,000 square metres, providing excellent shopping and catering facilities. There is also a spectacular view of the Hong Kong skyline on the podium and top doors. A dancing fountain in front of the main entrance attracts children and visitors.

Project Description:
Tseung Kwan O Sports Ground is a multi-purpose sports ground and home of Hong Kong Premier League club Eastern. It was the main venue for track and field events for the 2009 Hong Kong Games, 2009 East Asian Games and 2011 Hong Kong Games.
Occupying an area of about 5.9ha, it comprises the main sports ground, a warm-up secondary sports ground, and other facilities for holding large-scale international competitions. Its track and field facilities conform to International Association of Athletics Federations standards. It is located adjacent to the Hong Kong Velodrome.

Project Description:
The project comprises the Island East Leisure Centre and the Hong Kong Film Archive in separate buildings with a common car park basement. The Leisure Centre is a 6-storey build ng comprising a sports arena, leisure and training pool, a table tennis room, an indoor bowling green, a dancing room and a fitness room. The Film Archive is a 6-storey building comprising an exhibition hall, a cinema, a film library, a film store, a studio and other supporting facilities.
Inside the Film Archive, a four-floor film cold store with low humidity and low temperature conditions was built to store movie tapes, films and negatives.

Project Description:
This is a pilot project for an air-conditioning system with thermal storage of slurry ice built at the canteen in Lei Yue Mun Park. Slurry ice is liquid pumpable ice with suspension of very small ice crystals in a water/ethanol solution, which is produced by a special machine and stored in a fiberglass tank. A special additive is used to prevent agglomeration of ice crystals. The slurry ice solution is then pumped directly to the fan coil units on cooling demand when the fan coil units are switched on.

Project Description:
Tsing Yi Southwest Leisure Building was officially opened 5 December 2017. The building occupied a total area of about 6,700 square metres. Equipped with a sports centre and an indoor swimming pool, the building provides Kwai Tsing District residents with quality recreational and sports facilities, including indoor ball courts, a children's play room, an outdoor climbing wall and a heated swimming pool.
Tsing Yi Southwest Swimming Pool situated on the first floor of the building is the first indoor heated swimming pool in Kwai Tsing District and is open all year round. Residents of the district can enjoy swimming even in winter. The pool measures 25m by 15m and has 6 swimming lanes.
Festival Walk Ice Rink, Kowloon Tong

Project Description:
The largest ice skating rink in Hong Kong is located at Festival Walk Shopping Mall in Kowloon Tong. Its area is around 1,200 square meters. It serves both recreational skating and hockey matches.
A plant of three glycol chillers with remote air-cooled radiators as the heat rejection equipment is installed. -15°C glycol is pumped through field embedded in the rink floor, on which ice sheets are formed. Sub-floor heating pipes are embedded to prevent condensation on the ceiling of the floor below.

Project Description:
This is an expansion project to provide two new cremators for commissioning in 2023, adding about 3800 cremation sessions per annum.
The design and operation of these new cremators will be fully computerised, using advanced technologies. It will be installed with an advanced flue gas filtering system to process and filter out waste gases and particles generated during the combustion process, and will also be fitted with a high temperature secondary combustion chamber to ensure completion of combustion during the cremation process.
The above design was adopted for the new cremators at other cremator reprovisioning projects completed in recent years, such as Cape Collinson Crematorium. It has proven effective in reducing the emission of particles/waste gases, dark smoke and mercury as well as meeting the statutory environmental standards. The new cremators will be equipped with a computer system to record their emissions. The system is connected to EPD for real-time and comprehensive monitoring to ensure that waste gas emissions are in full compliance with the air quality standards.

The Heung Yuen Wai (HYW) Boundary Control Point (BCP) was officially open 26 August 2020. The Liantang Port/Heung Yuen Wai Boundary Control Point is the seventh land-based control point at the Hong Kong-Shenzhen boundary. It is named HYW BCP in Hong Kong and Liantang Port in Shenzhen.
The project involves a passenger terminal building and nine other main ancillary buildings, including fire and police bases, vehicle examination buildings and fitting-out and building services installation of the border crossing pedestrian bridge up to the Hong Kong - Shenzhen administrative boundary. The total floor area is approximately 157,400 sqm.

Fire and Ambulance Services Academy, situated at Tseung Kwan 0, covers an area of 158,000 square metres, and provides 526 residential training places for both newly recruited and serving fire and ambulance personnel. The diversified and advanced simulation training facilities of the Academy enhance Fire Services Department personnel’s professional knowledge and rescue techniques in handling incidents involving railway, tunnel, vessel, aircraft and fueling facility. The specialized training facilities for high angle rescue, urban search and rescue and compartment fire behaviour training strengthen the Fire Services Department personnel's capability of tackling large-scale incidents. In addition,fire and ambulance personnel will have more opportunities to be trained together, hence improving their response and coordination capability in emergencies.

The Mid-Levels and Central Escalator Link is the world’s longest escalator system and was opened to the public in 1993. It is about 800 metres long and consists of 20 escalators and three travelators, which provide an economical and convenient direct route between Conduit Road in the Mid-Levels and Central. More than 36,000 commuters use it every day. The link not only reduces the traveling time between the Mid-levels and Central but also reduces vehicle traffic and thus improves air quality.

It is the first private residential development in Hong Kong installed with Hong Kong Telecom Superior Wiring System and four-in-one sockets in all its units to enhance telecommunications transmission and to cater for future communications needs such as interactive television services. Po Kong Village Road School Village located at Diamond Hill is the first school village in Hong Kong.
