Veolia Energy Services Team Receives MiMEP Project Award 2025

MiMEP Project Award 2025

Veolia is honoured to announce that the Design and Construction of the Redevelopment of Kwai Chung Hospital Phase 2 Project has been presented with the MiC / MiMEP Achievement Award 2025, organised by the Construction Industry Council.

Project Highlights

  • Successfully integrated 16 MiMEP modules covering all MEP services, exceeding original contract requirements
  • Reduced the overall project timeline by 15% to 20% through early off-site prefabrication, carried out during the COVID-19 period
  • Shifted 70% of works to a controlled factory environment, significantly reducing on-site hazards and lowering the risk of accidents and injuries
  • Incorporated substantial sustainability measures, including a local fabrication yard and optimised supply chain management, to reduce carbon emissions and fuel consumption

Pioneering Innovation in Modern Construction

The project team demonstrated exceptional innovation and foresight in implementing the MiMEP methodology as early as 2019 — at a time when the concept had not yet been formally defined within the industry.

Multi-trade integrated Mechanical, Electrical and Plumbing (MiMEP) is a modern construction method that involves prefabricating building services components off-site in a factory setting, before transporting and assembling them on-site.

This achievement reflects the dedication, adaptability, and commitment of the project team in advancing industry standards and construction best practices.
