Veolia Volunteers Support Food Angel in Celebration of International Women's Day

In alignment with this year's International Women's Day theme, "Give to Gain," more than 60 colleagues across Veolia Hong Kong and Macau came together throughout March to participate in three volunteering activities in partnership with Food Angel.

For 15 years, Food Angel has been dedicated to rescuing surplus food and transforming it into meal boxes for underprivileged communities across Hong Kong, addressing food insecurity and promoting equality regardless of gender, age, or background.

Food Angel rescues over 33 tonnes of edible surplus food each week and delivers more than 20,000 meals daily. In a single afternoon, Veolia volunteers assisted in rescuing 1,000 kg of vegetables.

Through this volunteering initiative, Veolia colleagues contributed not only their time, but also to meaningful environmental outcomes — diverting edible surplus food from landfills, repurposing resources, and delivering essential nourishment to those in need. The initiative demonstrates that through the act of giving, all parties stand to gain.
